Barbaresco "Valeirano" DOCG

Valeirano is one of three Cru Barbareschi wines with which Giorgio Rivetti redefined expectations for Piedmont: concentrated, meaty, with soft tannins and a long finish that shows the power of Nebbiolo without sacrificing elegance.

Rivetti belongs to the inner circle of the so-called Barolo Boys—that generation of Piedmontese winemakers who, starting in the 1990s, transformed the face of Piedmont with estates like Altare, Clerico, Sandrone, and Scavino. For his Barbaresco, he works with three single vineyards: Gallina, Starderi, and Valeirano. The Dürer rhinoceros on the label symbolizes his vision—primal power as a guiding principle, not a mere promise.

In the glass, dark berry notes, blackberry and plum, along with the typical Nebbiolo spice with hints of tar and dried roses. The tannins are ripe and integrated, the body dense, the finish lingering. A wine that displays substance without being overwhelming.

Serving temperature 17–18 °C , ideally decant one hour before serving. Pairs well with braised beef, venison ragù on Tajarin cheese, or mature Castelmagno. Drinking window open for several years.
