Viña Los Vascos

The Los Vascos winery is now part of the Lafite Group (Valle de Colchagua Domaines Barons de Rothschild) in Chile. The winery's origins date back to a Basque family in 1750, who then, about 100 years later, began cultivating French grape varieties in the Cañeten Valley, leading to a dramatic increase in production. In 1988, Baron Eric de Rothschild took an interest in the winery and modernized it. This marked the beginning of a new era, and the winery was renamed "Los Vascos" in memory of its founders. The vineyards cover 640 hectares, making them one of the largest in the Colchagua Valley. The soils are of volcanic origin and consist mainly of clay and granite chips. The wine is produced using traditional cultivation techniques and drip irrigation.
