Paul Hobbs Winery
Paul Hobbs – farmer, chemist, visionary. Raised on a farm in New York, he originally wanted to be an astronaut – but a slight visual impairment dashed that dream. So he studied chemistry, then viticulture and enology in California. An internship with Robert Mondavi introduced him to wine. He was part of the founding team of Opus One, learning about both French and American approaches. A challenging time. Today, he is one of the most influential winemakers in the world. Paul Hobbs – from the farm to the cosmos of wine.
