Ramón Peña –
three generations of crafts from the Rías Gallegas

Since 1920, Ramón Peña has stood for the very best that the Galician Atlantic coast has to offer: fish and seafood processed shortly after being caught. Founded in Cambados, and now based in Ribadumia, the company is run by Nely Concheiro, the third generation of the family to do so – with the same principle her grandfather once formulated: to take only what the Rías Gallegas currently provide and to add as little as possible.

The Rías Gallegas are considered one of the most productive fishing regions in Europe. The cold, nutrient-rich Atlantic waters provide mussels, sardines, and crustaceans with a distinctive, natural flavor—a foundation that needs no further processing. Ramón Peña processes these fish according to traditional recipes: few ingredients, meticulous handcrafting, no shortcuts. The result is canned goods that are just as good on the table as fresh seafood—as tapas, on toasted bread, or straight from the can with a glass of Albariño.
