Az. Vinicola Falesco Srl.

As early as the 1960s, a small winery, primarily for their own production, was founded by Antonio and Domenico Cotarella. In 1979, their hobby became a full-fledged winery, named "Falesco," whose initial goal was to cultivate the old vines in the region. Twenty years later, production was so successful that they were able to purchase the Marcialano farm, adding another 260 hectares of land. This farm is located on a hill in the region around Ovieto, within the municipalities of Montecchio and Baschi. In 2016, the next generation took over: Dominga, Marta, and Enrica assumed leadership. In 2017, they acquired their most recent winery in Tuscany, "LeMacioche."

Falesco –
Cotarella wines between Orvieto and Tuscany

Falesco has its roots in a small winery that Antonio and Domenico Cotarella established in southern Umbria in the 1960s – initially for their own consumption, then with growing ambition. In 1979, the side project became a serious winery, whose first goal was the preservation of old vines in the region.

The decisive step came two decades later: with the acquisition of the Marcialano farm, the vineyard area increased by 260 hectares. The estate lies on a hill near Orvieto , between the municipalities of Montecchio and Baschi – a terroir of volcanic tuff and clay soils that gives the wines structure and a characteristic minerality.

In 2016, the three daughters, Dominga, Marta, and Enrica, took over the management – and continued the family tradition with their own style. A year later, the LeMacioche winery in Tuscany was added. Today, Falesco's portfolio spans from Umbrian white wines to Tuscan red wines, all characterized by meticulous craftsmanship and the ambition to clearly reflect their respective origins in the glass.
