Founded in 1918 in Sakurao, Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, we have been passing down our distillation techniques for over 100 years. This long history is shaped by the support and stories of many people, not only from Hiroshima, but from all over the world. In 2017, we established SAKURAO DISTILLERY to explore new possibilities in whisky and spirits production. Over a century of distillation art from Hiroshima

Based on the shores of the Seto Inland Sea since 1918, Sakurao distills using techniques refined over four generations. In 2017, they expanded into whisky and gin—using local water from Hiroshima and with the ambition of combining Japanese precision with new flavors.
