Dresden Dairy Brothers Pfund GmbH
Pfund Brothers –
Dresden dairy tradition since 1880
The Dresden dairy Gebrüder Pfund is no ordinary traditional company. Paul Pfund founded it in 1880, creating an institution that to this day stands for handcrafted milk and cheese specialties from Saxony. At its heart is the historic dairy shop in Dresden's Neustadt district: completely lined with hand-painted Art Nouveau tiles by Villeroy & Boch, it is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the most beautiful dairy shop in the world.
Behind the facade lies genuine ambition: Pfund produces exquisite cheese specialties and dairy products according to traditional recipes – including confiture de lait, a velvety caramelized spread that is slowly cooked down according to French tradition. Creamy, deeply caramelized, with a hint of salt – on fresh bread, with waffles, or as an accompaniment to a mild soft cheese.
What makes Pfund stand out is the combination of craftsmanship and history: a place that has shown for over 140 years that quality is not a matter of trend, but of attitude.
