Contessa Elide Lucangeli's family dates back to the 8th century, and her husband, Conte Stefano Aymerich di Laconi, is a direct great-great-great-grandson of the Sardinian viceroy. So much blue blood naturally calls for blue grapes, and so half of the 25 hectares are planted with Sangiovese and Montepulciano, which are used to produce outstanding Rosso Piceno. The winery itself is situated on the "Balcony of the Marche," famous since antiquity, with a magnificent view of the Bay of Ancona. A fresh breeze always blows here, both in the vineyard and, quite literally, in the cellar. The wines are produced using state-of-the-art oenology. The ambitious winemaker Luigi Lorenzetti cultivates a clear, uncompromising, and terroir-driven style, which has earned him a highly esteemed reputation.
