Prieler
The Austrian winery was founded in 1972 and is located in the small town of Schützen am Gebirge, west of Lake Neusiedl in eastern Austria. It is owned by Engelbert and Irmgard Prieler, who cultivate a total of 20 hectares of vineyards spread across several sites. The predominantly stony soils retain heat well during the day and release it again at night. Some sites also feature soils of brown loam, Leitha limestone, and mica schist. After harvesting, Prieler's grapes ferment in their own cellar, either in stainless steel tanks or large wooden barrels, until the finished product is ready. Among the grape varieties cultivated are Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot.
