In 1995, the partners began gradually converting more than 1,000 hectares of wetland into usable land. In 2002, Banrock Station was recognized for its efforts by the Ramsar Convention, an organization committed to the conservation and use of wetlands through local and national activities as well as international collaborations, contributing to global sustainable development. Today, Banrock Station supports over 130 environmental projects in 13 countries around the world.
