On the palate, Rosa dei Frati is a very fresh and juicy wine, with delicate fruit and a pleasing, well-integrated acidity. The finish is crisp and not too long. The vines that produce this fine rosé grow in the immediate vicinity of Lake Garda, near the towns of Sirmione and Desenzano. The mild lake climate allows for a late harvest of the grapes, predominantly Groppello, with a little Marzemino, Sangiovese, and Barbera. After brief skin contact with the must, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The wine then rests on the lees until February, followed by two months of bottle aging. In the glass, it displays a brilliant salmon pink color and a delicate and refreshing aroma of hawthorn and wild berries. The taste is delicately fruity and mineral, with well-integrated, refreshing acidity.
