The farm is situated on the slopes of Simonsberg in Stellenbosch, one of South Africa's most prestigious red wine terroirs. Classic Bordeaux grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc characterize the cuvée, which bears the name of Ansela van de Caab – one of the first documented female winemakers in the Cape.

In the glass, the wine opens with aromas of black plum, ripe blackberries, and a distinct hint of black pepper. Vanilla and a light cedar note in the background suggest barrel aging. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with silky tannins and a length that lingers for a while after the last sip. The wine has aging potential – drinking window until at least 2030 ; currently, some aeration is recommended.

Serving temperature: 17–18 °C.
