The name Lafóa goes back to the old name of a castle ruin near Eppan and represents the best vineyard sites of the member winegrowers: lime-rich, mineral soils at an altitude of several hundred meters, where warm days and cool nights ensure freshness and a wealth of aromas. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the wine is aged in small wooden barrels, which gives it depth and structure.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIn the glass, dark cherry and wild strawberry appear, accompanied by a fine spice of clove and toasted wood. On the palate, the wine is juicy, with velvety tannins and a long, slightly earthy finish.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBest served at \u003cstrong\u003e16 °C\u003c\/strong\u003e, for example with roast veal, grilled duck, or aged mountain cheese from the South Tyrolean alpine pastures.
