The vines for this Auxerrois are up to 50 years old – a truly unique feature for a variety that is hardly cultivated in Germany. Old vines yield less, but produce more concentrated grapes.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e In the glass, it displays a bright golden yellow. The nose is dominated by ripe mirabelle plum and quince, with a hint of papaya reminiscent of Borgunde and its Burgundian relatives (Auxerrois is a close cousin of Pinot Blanc). On the palate, it is juicy and full-bodied, with soft acidity and a floral finish – linden blossom, slightly creamy.
