These casks were subsequently filled with Marmalade Porter from the Wold Top Brewery before the whisky was further matured in them. Thus, sherry sweetness and bourbon vanilla meet the malty-chocolatey side of the porter.

In the glass, orange chocolate, malt, and toffee appear, along with ripe fruit and gentle oak spice. The bottling strength of 50% ABV gives the whisky structure and length on the palate.

Recommendation: neat, to explore the layers one after the other, or with a few drops of water. As a companion, a glass of porter alongside works well, picking up the malt and chocolate notes.

https://www.vinoscout.de/en/products/filey-bay-porter-cask-finish-50-0-vol-yorkshire-single-malt-whisky-0-7l
