The family cultivates their steep slopes with a focus on terroir expression—and the Pfarrwingert vineyard provides ideal conditions for this: southern exposure, a steep slope, and soil composed of greywacke, a granular, scree-like sediment with fragments of clay slate. This material warms up quickly, retains heat, and imparts its characteristic minerality to the wine.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e In the glass, the Pinot Noir displays dark forest fruits—blackberry, black cherry—underpinned by earthy minerality, floral aromas, and a hint of eucalyptus. Subtle tea notes and a cool spiciness lend the wine complexity. The aging in new oak is noticeable but not intrusive: the oak integrates seamlessly without overpowering the fruit.
