Georges Vigouroux literally built the winery from scratch starting in 1971, clearing garrigue and replanting the stony high-altitude sites with Malbec — the grape variety traditionally called Côt in Cahors, which turns out significantly more powerful and structured here than its Argentine counterpart. The Georges bears the founder's first name and represents the house's most ambitious line.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIn the glass, it shows the typical dark color of Cahors Malbec: deep ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose, dark plum, blackberry, and a hint of violets, plus licorice and an earthy, mineral undertone that recalls the limestone of the high altitude.
