The modern era began in 1922 when M. Degonde purchased the estate, followed by its first Cru Bourgeois classification in 1932. Since 1986, Dieter Tondera has managed the winery with the support of oenologist J.-L. Boissenot; in 2003, it was upgraded to Cru Bourgeois Supérieur . The grapes are hand-harvested and vinified separately according to grape variety and parcel. A three-week, temperature-controlled maceration with daily pump-overs maximizes color and aromatic depth. The wine is then aged for twelve months in French oak barriques, 20–30% of which are new.

In the glass, a deep, brilliant garnet red. The nose initially offers notes of toast and cedar, followed by sour cherry, almonds, and a hint of undergrowth.
