bodegas-pintia-pintia
Bodegas Pintia Pintia

Toro is not a gentle place: extreme summers, bone-hard winters, soils of gravel and clay. It is precisely these conditions that shape the Pintia — a Tempranillo that does not see power and finesse as opposites.

Bodegas Pintia belongs to the Vega Sicilia group, which has been working in the DO Toro since 2001. The vineyards lie at an altitude of 700 meters; old vines with deep roots draw minerality directly from the subsoil. Aging takes place in barriques—the wood serves as a framework, not the main focus.

In the glass, it shines a deep, purplish-red with violet reflections. The nose opens with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and blueberry—taut and precise. Beneath these lie notes of roasted mocha bean, nutty chocolate, and a hint of licorice. On the palate, a juicy, almost meaty texture: the tannins are present but not aggressive—chalky and structured, with a long finish that oscillates between dark fruit and subtle spice. Toro minerality makes itself felt in the finish.

Serving suggestion: 17–18 °C. Drinking window until approx. 2030. Pairs well with oven-roasted lamb shoulder, wild boar ragout or mature Manchego cheese with a little quince paste.
