The Malherbe family has farmed the estate for generations – the name originates from the Boer War and means something like \u0026quot;everything lost\u0026quot;. The barren granite and slate soils give the wines a structure and depth rarely found in warmer regions.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e In the glass, the Tinta Barocca displays aromas of cassis, blackberry jelly, and ripe plums, underpinned by dark chocolate and a hint of espresso. On the palate, it offers powerful, well-integrated tannins with noticeable richness and density – a wine with substance without feeling heavy.
