{"title":"Alex Schwank Winery","description":"The Alex Schwank winery is certainly not large. But precisely because of this, it manages to produce truly exceptional wines. The winemaker is an unusually sensitive man, with a deep love for nature and the vineyards among which he lives and grew up. This influences his approach to the vines and his philosophy of winemaking. We have been observing him and his wines for some time, but the 2017 vintage completely won us over, one batch so much so that we secured the entire batch and had it bottled exclusively under the Selektion Vinopolis label. The vineyards are located near Baden-Baden in the beautiful Ortenau region, and among them is the Cru site Klosterbergfelsen. There, on a purely south-facing slope, the Riesling vines grow on sometimes extremely steep terrain in primary rock soils of gneiss, granite, porphyry, and slate, giving the wines their distinctive character. The vines are all over 40 years old and are cultivated using entirely natural methods. The Alex Schwank winery is one of the most delightful discoveries we\u0026#39;ve made in recent years.","products":[],"url":"https:\/\/www.vinoscout.de\/en\/collections\/weingut-alex-schwank.oembed","provider":"Vinoscout","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
